Traffic dispute leads to fight at San Peng Flats

KUALA LUMPUR: A traffic dispute led to the fight at the San Peng Flats here.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police have taken statements from three individuals over the incident so far.

"We detected a 48-second-long viral video of the incident which was being circulated on Friday (Oct 28).

"The video shows a man with injuries to his head and face.

"Our checks revealed the incident took place at around 10pm on Wednesday (Oct 26)," he said when contacted on Saturday (Oct 29).

The video which was circulated on social media alleges that the fight started after a teenager got involved in an accident with a luxury multipurpose vehicle at the San Peng Flats along Jalan Gandek, Pudu.

It also claims that two men believed to be bodyguards beat up the teenager causing injuries to his head.

"We have opened investigations for causing grievous hurt.

"Two people have been identified in connection with the incident and are being tracked down," he said, adding that the fight was believed to have been started following a traffic dispute.

He advised the public to refrain from taking matters into their own hands or face stern action from the police.

"We will not hesitate to arrest anyone who intentionally breaks the law," he said.
